Brief History

The planet was settled by the Taung when they came from Roon under the leadership of Mandalore the First before 7,000 BBY.[3][1] The native  mythosaur species was driven  to extinction, as the Taung used their skeletons as the architectural structure of their bone cities.[1] Naming the planet after their leader, the Taung began calling themselves Mandalorians, where they continued to expand and conquer numerous worlds. , Known as Manda’yaim in Mando’a, Mandalore was the capital world of the Mandalore sector of the Outer Rim Territories, which the Mandalorian culture first conquered.  Under the pacifist-centered regime of Duchess Satine Kryze‘s New Mandalorians, it has been renamed New Mandalore. Neither change has been wholeheartedly embraced by all citizens of Mandalore, particularly those who prefer the warrior driven ethos of traditional practice.
